The CF7 plugin route, and why you can skip it

In wp-admin: Contact → Contact Forms → your form → the Mail tab. This is the notification CF7 already sends when someone submits.

Add your inbound address to “To”

CF7 accepts comma-separated recipients. Keep your own address and add your agent’s inbound lead address after a comma. Save.

Questions

Do I keep or remove the Mail (2) autoresponder?

Your call. Many businesses turn Mail (2) off so the lead gets one great reply instead of a canned receipt plus a real answer. Both can coexist while you test.

Does this need a plugin or an API key?

No plugin, no OpenAI key, no code. One extra recipient on the Mail tab is the entire WordPress-side change.

Will it work with my CF7 field layout?

Yes. The agent parses the notification however your mail template is arranged, and picks out the name, email, and message automatically.

What about CF7 spam (Akismet, reCAPTCHA, honeypots)?

Submissions blocked by your anti-spam never send a notification, so the agent never sees them. Spam that does get through is classified as a non-lead and never counts toward your 500.
